A short, research-based self-study course for people working in music who recognise the pattern: irregular gigs, uneven income and work that rarely ends at five.
Stress comes with the industry, but it does not have to run you. The course explains what stress and worry do to body and mind — and gives you practical tools you can use the same day.
The content draws on methods from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and research on mindfulness. You get tools and strategies for handling the feelings and thoughts that come with stress and worry, plus PDF material with exercises to work through on your own.
A good place to start is looking at your own patterns of behaviour — that is usually where the changes that matter show up.
43 minutes across four filmed chapters, with exercises in between. You can take it on a computer, tablet or phone.
Anyone who wants tools for handling stress and worry. No prior knowledge needed.
Katarina Larsson is a behavioural scientist at occupational health service pe3, with long experience of both group and individual work and of consulting at organisational level. Workplace stress is one of the areas she is most often asked to work on.
The course is entirely web-based. Once accepted you get an account in Kulturakademin’s learning platform Learnster, where all the material sits together — video, text, exercises and links. You work through it when, where and at the pace you like, and you can pause and come back. Finish it and you get a certificate automatically.
Produced by Kulturakademin with pe3 företagshälsa, supported by Västra Götalandsregionen and Region Halland.
Applications go to Kulturakademin through the link on this page. Admission is rolling, so you can start as soon as you are accepted. Questions about the course? Contact Erik Bergstrand at Kulturakademin, erik@kulturakademin.com.
