Welcome to an inspiring masterclass with Jam Rostron, also known as Planningtorock – producer, composer, and a powerful voice within queer pop and electronic dance music.
“During this masterclass Planningtorock will share the different techniques they have developed to process their vocals as well as other music production methods and ideas about queering Sonic’s.”
Through collaborations with artists such as The Knife, Robyn, Lady Gaga, Christine and the Queens, and Romy (The xx), Jam Rostron has helped shape contemporary expressions in electronic and queer pop music for more than two decades.
In this masterclass, Jam opens up their artistic practice and shares insights from their work as a producer and composer, with a particular focus on vocal processing and vocal techniques.
The masterclass is open to anyone working with – or curious about – music production. Whether you are established, experimental, or at the beginning of your creative journey, you are warmly welcome to participate.
Participants are offered afternoon refreshments with coffee, tea, and snacks. Any additional beverages from the bar are purchased by the participants themselves.
Participation is free of charge, but advance registration is required no later than 18 June. We operate a queue system for the event.
No-show policy: A fee of SEK 1,500 will be charged for registered participants who do not attend. This fee will be invoiced unless cancellation is made by 23 June.
The masterclass is produced by the Academy of Music and Drama, Brewhouse, and the Department of Culture in the Västra Götaland Region, as part of the Tune In West initiative.
