During Viva Sounds, Westside Music Sweden opens the door to the international music industry for participants from Kulturakademin.
In a closed, interactive workshop you meet bookers, festival organisers, agents, PR and label representatives — all with solid experience from the independent scene and a genuine interest in sharing knowledge, perspectives and practical advice.
It is a chance to talk, ask questions and get personal answers from people who work with international music projects every day.
PREPARATION — before the workshop you receive information about the guests and their roles, and prepare your own questions, needs and goals.
JOINT INTRODUCTION (30–45 min) — the guests introduce themselves and their work, followed by a discussion of international work, challenges and opportunities at indie level, with an emphasis on transparency and real-world perspectives.
ROUND TABLES (about 60–90 min) — rotating conversations in small groups where every participant meets every international guest. You ask your prepared questions, get direct feedback and make connections. The conversations are briefly documented to support follow-up.
Musicians, organisers, producers and other professionals in music who are active in Västra Götaland or Halland and have ambitions to work internationally. It suits both freelancers and people working within organisations.
The participating artists and industry representatives will be announced later. The workshop is produced by Westside Music Sweden with Kulturakademin, supported by Västra Götalandsregionen.
Applications go to Kulturakademin through the link on this page. Questions about the course? Contact Erik Bergstrand at Kulturakademin, erik@kulturakademin.com.
