One of the world’s largest meeting places for folk and world music
WOMEX — The World Music Expo — brings the industry together from across the world for a trade fair, showcases, a conference and networking. In 2026 it takes place in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, on 21–25 October.
Export Music Sweden offers a limited number of travel grants of SEK 3,000. The initiative is made possible with support from Konstnärsnämnden.
Who can apply?
The support is aimed at songwriters and composers, artists and performers, business owners and people employed by companies.
Please note: ExMS cannot award travel support to organisations, or to people employed by organisations whose principal is a region, a municipality or the state. The same applies if your primary income comes from a region, a municipality or the state.
It is worth reading that condition closely before spending time on an application — it rules out a fair share of people who would otherwise fit.
